Neglected Awnings = Lost Revenue

Friday, June 4th, 2010

We have all heard the expression “You only have one chance to make a good first impression”. I can think of no better phrase to describe the science of retail merchandising. From small Mom & Pop shops to major restaurant chains, the exterior appearance of a business plays a major role in consumer traffic.

Have you ever been on vacation looking for a nice place to eat lunch? How many places did you pass by because the outside looked unkempt ? The truth is, in order to attract customers, you must project an image that is both appealing and inviting!

Awnings are a fantastic way to improve the look and appeal of your business. They can add some much needed color and style to a dull property. Factor in the benefit of graphics and signage and you can imagine the impact on a customer’s first impression. However, should those awnings become faded and neglected, it can have an equally devastating affect on your company’s bottom line.

As you can see below, dirt, sun and neglect have taken it’s toll on these awnings:

In this case, the property owner spent thousands of dollars to replace these neglected awnings and improve the appearance of this storefront. I am here to tell you there is a better way!

Keeping your awnings clean and protected is easy and cost effective with regular maintenance. Having an Awning Care Professional clean and seal your awnings several times per year, will extend the life of your investment and give you that “great first impression” you are looking for.
